Are YOU Optimizing Your Blog?
I’m so impressed by all these guys blogging about monetizing your blog, search engine optimization (SEO), self realization, setting up a successful business from your home-office and such things. There are so many of these blogs promising success and prosperity if you just follow 10 easy steps and buy their book.
I’m impressed not so much by their message, but rather by the sheer output they produce and the way they constantly reinvent and twist their words and phrases on the exact same topics. Some of them have been doing this stuff for years, their total word count approaching stratospheric proportions, yet their unique word count rests steadily on, I don’t know, 250?
I’ve been reading a few of these blogs lately. The first time you visit them, either we’re talking self realization or profit maximization, they can be quite inspiring, I’ll admit that. You read, nod and agree with them and think to yourself that yes, this could actually be the way to a more successful life; they’re on to something here!
Then, when you’ve read some 8-10 posts, they seem to start all over again with their first post - just with a slightly different approach. And thus it continues - rewind and play it again… they’re chanting the same message over and over and over and over and over… until you get tired of the whole thing and realize it’s just a load of bull.
It’s so obvious, they’re utilizing their own tricks - endlessly repeating “valuable” and popular keywords throughout their posts, pure SEO. A lot of them are good writers, and just when they’re ready to offer you their big secret, “all you have to do is sign up and order my book for $19,99 today”
I feel so used… all my clicking activities on these blogs in the last couple of weeks have provided me with no or few answers and almost certainly made these guys even richer than they were already. But I’ll never buy their books!
