Silly Guitar Solos (intermission)

Man, it’s hard to find guitar solos as silly as “Say You’ll be Mine”. I’m struggling find a worthy follow-up. It’s also kind of frustrating listening to music for hours to end with the sole purpose of discovering bad solos - I’m getting a headache. Most solos are just awfully indifferent, I find. But I’ll continue my quest, I promise, it may just take a little while to come up with something good -er - silly, I mean.

Let this be a warning to you: once you start a series, suddenly you realise, “oh shit, I have to keep this up!” Take it frome me. :) :) :)

Thanks for excellent advice, Jason! I know I couldn’t possibly keep it up, so I’m trying as hard as I can to lower any expectations here :)

Thank God I haven’t got as many commenters as you have!

Completely off-topic, yes, I heard the Midlake album late last year at work, but I only listened once and nothing immediately stood out, even though I knew beforehand about their soft-rock approach. I guess that album’s a grower.

Off-topic? Not a problem on this blog - I can still count my commenters on one hand :)

I do think it’s a grower, and its an album proper I find - all the pieces are so well-connected. And there’s an aura of nostalgia around it that appeals to me.

I think you’re right though - nothing really stands out on its own terms. Except the divine background vocals.
