Breakwater started as a high school band out of Central High & Germantown High, competing with a band called Pitch Black - a band outta the Eubanks family (Kevin on guitar, Robin on trombone, and some other Central players). Breakwater's original bass player was a white kid named Petey Lloyd, who is now a serious classical bassist in Minnesota. interesting bit of trivia.
